Never puts down her pen in class, junior Erica Ng seems to be paying attention to the lecture. However, she is not doing classwork. She is in her own world, constantly drawing and practicing for her future goal.

Ng sees drawing as a tool for her to escape reality. Drawing allows her to picture events that she will not experience in real life, providing her enchantment.
Ng started drawing manga or anime since middle school. She was self-taught. She was fascinated by the artwork of anime and how awesome she would feel if she could draw like those professional comic artist.
Ng has eight or more sketchbooks now. She draws all the time during school hours.
“I doodle everyday in my notebook. I try practicing new styles because I wanna design games,” Ng said.
Ng’s favorite manga are Durarara or Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama. She likes every manga that is good looking. However, genre-wise, she likes romance and comedy.
With the passion and interest in drawing anime, Ng wishes to be a comic artist in the future.
“[Having comic artist as my profession] is like a far away dream to me, but yeah. If anything, drawing is probably the only thing i am good at,” Ng said.
